Why chocolate daisy or do you take time to smell the flowers ?

Once upon a time, during a morning walk along the train tracks, the smell of chocolate was suddenly upon us and to our great surprise it was coming from those non assuming yellow daisies.
We are talking about good dark chocolate smell, a nourishing smell in itself.
And I certainly can tell you a lot about smell, having spend many hours in my mother and grandmother perfume shop in Paris, at a time when all the perfumes where made with natural fragrances and ingredients. Ah! the smells of the morning market in Aix en Provence, of the lavender fields on the Valensoles plateau, the fragrances coming of the islands of Corsica and Formentera without forgetting the one we talked about earlier, namely of chocolate coming from small daisies in the middle of the Chihuahua desert.
The story goes on as we started inquiring about those extraordinary flowers and then discovering that a lot of people in Marfa did not know the chocolate daisy although it grows on the roadside.
A flower that smells like chocolate, what a glorious idea and wonderful surprise.
It puts a smile on my face to think of creation with a definite sense of humor.
To be continued...
